Wooly Sunflower

Eriophyllum lanatum
Woolly Sunflower (Eriophyllum lanatum) is a perennial subshrub native to Western US states (such as Washington, Oregon, California, and Idaho) that can thrive in USDA Zones 5–9. Reaching a mature height of 6–18 inches with a low, mounding, woolly-haired growth habit, it features deeply lobed, grayish-green woolly leaves and produces bright golden-yellow daisy-like flower heads. It thrives in dry, rocky or sandy slopes, chaparral, and open pine woods in full sun and is ideal for rocky slope stabilization, dryland restoration, and native bee forage.
