Triticum aestivum
WB Grainfield Wheat (Triticum aestivum) is an annual grass native to central Great Plains US states (such as Kansas, Colorado, and Nebraska) and has also been successfully introduced across North America as a non-invasive crop that can thrive in USDA Zones 3–10 as a cool-season annual. Reaching a mature height of 2–3 feet with an upright erect growth habit, it features green leaves with good drought tolerance and produces bearded grain spikes. It thrives in dryland agricultural soils in full sun and is ideal for dryland grain production, winter soil protection, and forage harvesting.
