Sunn Hemp (Crotalaria juncea) is an annual forb native to southern US states (such as Florida, Texas, and Louisiana) and has also been successfully introduced across North America as a non-invasive crop that can thrive in USDA Zones 8–11 as a warm-season annual. Reaching a mature height of 4–6 feet with an upright branching growth habit, it features narrow, velvety green leaves and produces bright yellow pea-like flowers. It thrives in well-drained sandy to loamy soils in full sun and is ideal for soil nitrogen enrichment, nematode control, and agricultural cover cropping.
