Sorghum

Sorghum bicolor ssp. bicolor
Grain Sorghum / Forage Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor) is an annual grass native to southern US states (such as Texas and Kansas) and has also been successfully introduced across North America as a non-invasive agricultural crop that can thrive in USDA Zones 3–11 as a warm-season annual. Reaching a mature height of 4–10 feet with a stout, robust, corn-like upright growth habit, it features broad, flat green leaves and produces dense, heavy terminal grain heads. It thrives in warm, well-managed soils in full sun and is ideal for agricultural grain production, livestock silage forage, and temporary wind erosion control.
