Formerly Viguiera multiflora. Tall native perennial forb to subshrub with golden yellow sunflower-like flowers, blooming May to October. Competitive; good seedling vigor. Prefers well-drained soils on dry to moderately moist slopes and roadsides in sagebrush and woodland communities; 3,500-12,000 ft. elevation. Browsed by ungulates; birds and rodents eat the seeds. Attracts numerous native bees, butterflies and hummingbirds.
