Sand Sage

Artemisia filifolia
Sand Sagebrush (Artemisia filifolia) is a perennial evergreen shrub native to Central and Southwestern US states (such as Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado) that can thrive in USDA Zones 4–8. Reaching a mature height of 2–4 feet with a rounded, fine-textured, branching growth habit, it features aromatic, silvery-blue thread-like leaves and produces small brownish flower spikes. It thrives in deep, loose sandy soils, sand dunes, and dry sandy prairies in full sun and is ideal for severe sand dune stabilization, wind erosion control, and wildlife habitat cover.
