Elymus hoffmannii
Cool season, long-lived, weakly rhizomatous, sod-forming perennial. Very drought tolerant. Hybrid cross combining the palatability of Bluebunch wheatgrass (Pseudoroegneria spicata ssp. spicata) with the productive and vigorous growth of Quackgrasss (Elytrigia repens), but without aggressive spreading. Adapted to most soils including moderately saline sites. Highly productive, nutritious and palatable. Recovers quickly from grazing, haying. Useful on both irrigated and non-irrigated pasture and range sites.
