One-Sided Bluegrass (Poa secunda var. secunda) is a perennial grass native to Western US states (such as Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Nevada) that can thrive in USDA Zones 3–8. Reaching a mature height of 1–2 feet with a dense, tufted bunching growth habit, it features fine, short, glaucous green leaf blades and produces narrow, one-sided yellowish-green seed panicles. It thrives in dry, rocky sagebrush steppes, desert plains, and foothill slopes in full sun and is ideal for early cool-season rangeland grazing, arid slope erosion control, and dryland watershed cover.
This is a perennial bunchgrass that grows between 1 to 2 feet tall. It is used for erosion control and rangeland restoration. This grass prefers full sun and is commonly found in dry, open habitats such as grasslands and sagebrush steppes.
