Reaching a mature height of 2–4 feet with an upright, branching, shrub-like growth habit, it features smooth, blue-green trifoliate leaves and produces tall spikes of clean white pea-like flowers. It thrives in well-drained sandy or loamy soils in full sun and is ideal for tallgrass prairie conservation, agricultural windbreaks, and highway corridor plantings.
