PHOTOPERIOD SENSITIVE (PS) BMR SORGHUM FOR UPLAND ACRES AND COVER CROPPING MIXES
Drylander Forage Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor) is an annual grass native to central and southern US states (such as Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas) and has also been successfully introduced across North America as a non-invasive agricultural crop that can thrive in USDA Zones 4–11 as a warm-season annual. Reaching a mature height of 5–7 feet with an upright rigid growth habit, it features broad, drought-resistant green leaves and produces dense seed panicles. It thrives in arid to semi-arid well-drained soils and is ideal for dryland silage production, cattle grazing, and drought-contingency forage.
