Thymophylla pentachaeta
Golden Dyssodia (Thymophylla pentachaeta) is a short-lived perennial or annual forb native to Southwestern US states (such as Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah) that can thrive in USDA Zones 7–11. Reaching a mature height of 4–8 inches with a low, mounding tufted growth habit, it features fine, needle-like aromatic green leaves and produces small, brilliant yellow daisy-like flower heads. It thrives in dry, calcareous, gravelly desert soils and roadsides in full sun and is ideal for arid soil stabilization, roadside conservation, and drought-tolerant pollinator habitat.
