Clarkia williamsonii
Fort Miller Clarkia (Clarkia purpurea subsp. quadrivulnera) is an annual forb native to Western US states (such as California, Oregon, and Washington) that can thrive in USDA Zones 7–10 as a spring annual. Reaching a mature height of 1–2 feet with a slender upright growth habit, it features narrow green leaves and produces cup-shaped purple-to-wine-red flowers with a distinct dark central spot on each petal. It thrives in dry, sunny grasslands, oak savannas, and chaparral margins and is ideal for dryland meadow revegetation, roadside plantings, and native bee support.
