Flex 719 Triticale (x Triticosecale) is an annual grass native to central and western US states (such as Kansas, Colorado, and Idaho) and has also been successfully introduced across North America as a non-invasive hybrid crop that can thrive in USDA Zones 3–10 as a cool-season annual. Reaching a mature height of 3–5 feet with an upright tillering growth habit, it features broad blue-green leaf blades and produces large, bearded seed spikes. It thrives in well-drained loamy soils in full sun and is ideal for flexible grazing-or-hay harvest systems, winter cover cropping, and forage rotation.
Flex 719 is an Awnletted triticale with great winterhardiness and a tall plant structure. Flex 719 has had great performance across the Midwest and is consistently one of the highest tonnage triticale varieties in the market place.
