Reaching a mature height of 3–6 feet with an upright erect growth habit, it features whorled, lance-shaped dark green leaves and produces slender, candelabra-like spikes of tiny white to pale lavender flowers. It thrives in moist prairies, savannas, and wet meadows and is ideal for tallgrass prairie conservation, rain basin management, and pollinator support.
