Clasping Coneflower is a hardy annual wildflower native to the Southeastern United States and has naturalized in much of the Central Plains eastward. This member of the sunflower family has simple alternate leaves, that are simple and clasping.
Prefers full sun and tolerates varying soil condition
Forms dense colonies in moist areas
Grows to a height of 1-2 feet
Blooms from June to September and is often found in roadsides, prairies, waste places, and slopes.
Very prolific seed producer
Clasping leaves differentiate it from Black-eyed Susan and Mexican Hat
