Beaked Spikerush (Eleocharis rostellata) is a perennial forb native to Western and Central US states (such as California, Nevada, Utah, and Texas) that can thrive in USDA Zones 4–9. Reaching a mature height of 1–3 feet with an arching, tip-rooting growth habit, it features leafless, wiry, flattened green stems and produces small terminal seed spikelets. It thrives in alkaline marshes, hot springs, and wet saline flats and is ideal for saline wetland reclamation, spring head stabilization, and water treatment wetlands.
This is a perennial grass-like sedge that grows between 1 to 3 feet tall. It is commonly used in wetland restoration projects. This plant prefers full sun and grows in wet, marshy soils, often found in wetlands and along streams.
